Prodigal: Home is Colorblind

A Christian Drama. Ethan, a white teenager growing up in a black home and

community loses his adoptive mother in a car crash, which sets him on a desperate
journey to find his place in the world. His father has always had trouble showing
his love for Ethan and this only makes things worse. While he has a very special
relationship with his adoptive sister, he feels profoundly lost and out of place, so
he steals money from the church and from his father, then heads out on the road to
find his birth parents. But the further he strays from home, the more he begins to
lose his faith in God and his moral compass, until he is saved and brought back to
the church in the most unexpected of ways.

Meanwhile, a parallel narrative is unfolding fifteen years in the future as a very
different Ethan is locked in a power struggle with his cunning rival over who will
guide the future of the same church he had strayed from as a kid. Still an outsider
to some, but now with an unmistakable commitment to God and to his community,
Ethan Must revisit the lessons he learned as a teenager to bring his community and
his church back together.
