Thirteen years have passed since Abby Carter has had a long stay in her hometown. After hearing emotional truths, Abby decides it’s time for a summer visit. Swapping palm trees for cornfields, Abby and her son, Remmy take flight to Illinois.

Running into Sawyer Gibson was inevitable in a town that small. Sawyer was still the town’s golden boy, but now he was the high school teacher, coach, and regular town volunteer. He was the whole package…so why was it that he was still single after all this time?
